About Aquaviana

Aquaviana is a magazine about water, with no shop and no rankings that anyone has paid for. We write about what is in your glass and build tools that run in your browser.
Who is Aquaviana?
Aquaviana is the voice of this magazine. She explains water so that everyone understands it: no chemistry degree, no panic and no miracle promises. When an article says “Aquaviana advises”, that is the core point in one sentence you can remember.
Why this magazine
Water is the simplest food in the world and yet full of questions. Can I drink tap water? Is a reverse osmosis system worth it? What does a soda maker really cost? Is there microplastic in the bottle? The answers are usually simpler than the internet makes them. Aquaviana collects them in one place.
How we work
Our articles are based on figures from the Drinking Water Ordinance (Trinkwasserverordnung), information from water suppliers and practical experience from the kitchen and the household. Where we give figures, they are guideline values, not dogma. We do not recommend brands and do not link to retailers. If we praise or criticise a type of system, it is because of its technology.
The tools
The water intake calculator, drink tracker, plastic savings calculator, soda maker cost calculator, hardness converter, reverse osmosis calculator, tap water check and the water type quiz run entirely in your browser. There is no tracking, there are no cookies and there are no outside servers. What you enter stays with you.
Images and videos
The images and videos on Aquaviana are illustrations of our topics and were created for this magazine. They show no particular products, brands or people.
