Aquaviana

Privacy

In short: Aquaviana sets no cookies, uses no third-party analytics services, loads nothing from outside servers and does not know who you are unless you write to us.

Visitor count

An exception to what this page otherwise says about outside services: every page loads a small counting script from analytics.axaix.app, the network's own statistics server. It is hosted in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and the data is not passed on to third parties.

The script sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page viewed, the page the visit came from, screen width and language, the broad device type, browser and operating system, and clicks on downloads and on links to other websites. Your IP address is used only briefly to determine country and city and to form a daily hash, then discarded and never stored. The hash changes every day, so a visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next. Raw data is deleted after twelve months. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, the visit is not counted.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring the reach of these pages with as little data as possible (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Advertising

Through the counting script, every page also loads the advertising script ad.member.show/axaix.js. On the network’s magazines it shows labelled ads from members of the member.show network, and banner.member.show serves the banner images. Both addresses belong to the network itself and are hosted by the provider Hostinger. No data is passed on to advertisers or any other third parties.

The advertising script sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and builds no user profiles. Which ad appears depends only on the page viewed and its language. Impressions and clicks are counted solely as totals per ad, page and day, and your IP address is not stored for this. A click on an ad passes briefly through ad.member.show and then on to the advertiser.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in funding the magazines through advertising and showing advertisers the reach of their ads (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Server log files

Our hosting provider stores the usual technical data with every request (IP address, time, page requested, browser) for security purposes and deletes it after a short time. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We do not use these logs to build profiles.

Fonts, images, videos, maps and scripts

Everything on this site is delivered from our own domain; only the contact form, the advice request and the newsletter sign-up come from formdialog.com, our own form service. No Google Fonts, no other external scripts, no embedded maps or videos from third parties. The world map is drawn by our own code from public-domain outlines; it never contacts a map service. The water effect on the home page is calculated by your graphics card, and no data is transmitted in the process.

Interactive tools, tracker and quiz

The water intake calculator, drink tracker, plastic savings calculator, soda maker cost calculator, hardness converter, reverse osmosis calculator, tap water check and the water type quiz run in your browser. They store your entries, your drinking amount and your quiz result in your own browser (local storage) so that they are still there on your next visit. Nothing is transmitted to us. You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings or with the reset buttons.

Sharing on social networks

The share buttons are simple links. Only when you click one does the respective network open in a new window and learn which page you want to share. No network is contacted when you open our pages. Result images are drawn in your browser.

Newsletter, contact form and advice request

The contact form, the advice request and the newsletter sign-up come from formdialog.com, the form service of NexTao GmbH. It runs on its own server at Hostinger in Frankfurt am Main, sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. With the form, it learns which Aquaviana page the form is on.

If you write to us via the contact form, we process the details you provide (name, email address, topic, message) in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). The message is delivered to our editorial team by email, stored in the form service and deleted as soon as it is no longer needed. To prevent abuse, we keep the IP address of each submission for 14 days (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

The newsletter uses the double opt-in procedure: after signing up you receive an email with a confirmation link, and only clicking it completes your subscription. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. As proof of your consent, we store the time and IP address of the sign-up and of the confirmation. Your email address stays on our mailing list until you unsubscribe, which is possible with every issue (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

If you request advice on water filters, we process the details you provide (name, email address, a phone number if you wish, your request) in order to reply to you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). As with the contact form, the request is delivered to our editorial team by email, stored in the form service and deleted as soon as it is no longer needed; here too we keep the IP address for 14 days. We do not pass your data on to third parties and we sell nothing.
